A charismatic stage personality, a brilliant singer, a vital artist, a stunning woman, one who sings with freedom and passion; Miss Mamsirova has become highly popular among the Russian opera public.
Margarita Mamsirova studied voice with Alexander Bystrov and joined Masterclasses with Irina Archipova and Larissa Gerghieva. She has been nominated for the Golden Mask National Theatre Award for performing La Cenerentola and also won among other prizes the reputable Golden Wing-Flat Theatre Prize. Margarita Mamsirova began her career in 2000, singing in War and Piece at La Bastille/Opéra National in Paris. Since then she performed major roles at the Bolshoi Theatre and at the Moscow Academic Music Theatre (Stanislavsky Opera).
Her roles include Carmen, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and Preziosilla in Forza del destino, Amneris in Aida, Eboli in Don Carlo as well as Mother Goose in The Rake's Progress, Polina in The Queen of Spades, Shinkarka in Boris Godunov and Olga in Evgeny Onegin – a New production of the Bolshoi Theatre 2006. Further Bolshoi Plans inlcude Paulina, Shinkarka in Boris Godunov and Olga in Evgeny Onegin.
And she will be Bolshoi’s new Carmen.
